Fear: Every Woman’s Battle

FEAR. It’s every woman’s battle. It’s every mom’s battle and certainly every homeschool mom’s battle. We worry about our kids, their education, our husbands, finances, relationships, our country, our future, our past, our present. We care about other people’s opinions and often raise them to a place of authority in our hearts that only God is worthy of.

It’s an all-out war with the Enemy of our souls. He would love nothing better than to distract and overwhelm us with fear because he KNOWS that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead LIVES in us and when we are fully engaged in the battle, we are most certainly a threat.

Ephesians 1:19,20(NLT):

“I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.”

God has called us to courage. He doesn’t tell us to be brave and then sit back and watch us struggle to figure it out. No, He tells us WHY we can be courageous and empowers us to do so:

“I, yes I, am the one who comforts you.

So why are you afraid of mere humans,

who wither like the grass and disappear?

Yet you have forgotten the Lord, your Creator,

the one who stretched out the sky like a canopy

and laid the foundations of the earth.

Will you remain in constant dread of human oppressors?

Will you continue to fear the anger of your enemies?

Where is their fury and anger now?

It is gone!

Soon all you captives will be released!

Imprisonment, starvation, and death will not be your fate!

For I am the Lord your God,

who stirs up the sea, causing its waves to roar.

My name is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

And I have put my words in your mouth

and hidden you safely in my hand.

I stretched out the sky like a canopy

and laid the foundations of the earth.

I am the one who says to Israel,

‘You are my people!’”-Isaiah 51:12-16(NLT)

The Enemy would love to convince us that we are “just a mom” and our work is meaningless because so much of it is unseen. But nothing could be further from the truth. If we weren’t a threat, he would leave us alone, but he knows we are raising up the next generation of warriors, and what we are doing at home matters! Keep your hand to the plow. Be faithful to the work God has put in front of you.

We belong to the Maker of the universe. His power is unmatchable and His love for His people reaches to the heavens. He is on our side.

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”-Romans 8:31
