Do you ever feel like God is hiding from you…that finding Him and hearing His voice seems like SO much work?
In Jeremiah 29:13,14 it says:
If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.”
The Enemy would love to convince us that God is difficult to find because that would discourage us from even trying. Not only that, it would leave a residue in our hearts that God is unloving and uncommitted to helping us, to being our God, to loving us in the ways that we need.
Nothing could be further from the truth!
God always has our best interests in mind. He is our Creator and He knows that our hearts need to be ready to hear His answers. As we “seek Him wholeheartedly” it isn’t HE who changes. It is we who change. The process of seeking God wholeheartedly turns our hearts more fully toward Him and prepares us to fully hear from Him. It opens up places in our hearts that might have been closed before. When our hearts are prepared it helps us hear more clearly AND enables us to walk in obedience to what He is telling us.
The verse just before the above passage says:
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen.
God loves to answer our prayers. He loves to meet us in the midst of our messes. He is our Redeemer and He takes great pleasure in redeeming those messes, bringing light in the midst of darkness, clarity in the midst of confusion, peace in the middle of chaos, joy in the midst of grief.
